My suggestion would be to first check Netflow/IPFIX/sFlow/etc data with which parties you are exchanging significant data, then checking peeringdb or similar where those parties are located and thus if you can meet them closer to their origin.
Of course, volume of traffic is one thing, latency is the other.
Then, if Milan makes sense, you can simply search in PeeringDB for the location:
https://www.peeringdb.com/search/v2?q=Milano
and find all facilities.
A useful site can also be to check: http://peering.exposed <http://peering.exposed/> for pricing hints; some cases good transit might be good enough.
Depends of course completely on the why one wants to be in a location, what traffic, latency and lots of other factors and of course how you get your traffic away from that location to other places...
